The Tenth Annual Women's History Month Trivia Night is part competition, part community gathering, part remembrance. Five themed rounds, teams of friends and strangers, a host with a microphone, and a room of people who actually want to be there. Here's what to expect when you walk in the door.

Five themed rounds, written fresh each year — with one wild card at the end.

Round 01

Foremothers & Firsts.

The women who got there first — in courtrooms, on ballots, at podiums, on picket lines. Some names you know. Most, you'll wish you did.

Science, Medicine & the Lab.

From Rosalind Franklin to Mae Jemison to the contemporary epidemiologists making sense of the present. Discovery, credit, and who took which patent home.

Art, Letters & Songbook.

Writers, painters, choreographers, songwriters — the women whose work outlasted the magazines that ignored them. Expect a listening question or two.

Sport, Speed & Strength.

Olympians and outsiders, coaches and captains, the records broken and the ones that should be. A round for everyone who's ever been told to throw “like a girl.”

Organizers, theorists, and frontline workers across the long history of feminist movement — from suffrage halls to mutual-aid kitchens to today's labor lines.

The Tenth-Anniversary bonus.

One audio-visual mystery round, written just for the tenth year — a decade of trivia questions, condensed. Worth double. No table left behind.

Run of show

Ninety minutes, start to finish.

The event runs tight. Doors open early so you can grab a drink, find your team, and settle in. Trivia starts at 5:30 sharp — latecomers welcome, but you'll miss the first round. We wrap by 7:00 so the conversation can keep going wherever it wants to.

Scorecards stay on the table the whole night. We tally between rounds. Half-time stretch is your chance to swap a team name (yes, you can) and refill your glass.

How teams work

Bring a team. Or be paired with one.

Most teams are four to six people, sitting around the same table. If you're coming on your own, tell us at the door — we'll seat you with other solo guests, and you'll have a team by the time the first question lands.

No one plays alone unless they want to. No table is turned away. The room is the point.

Bring a full team (4–6)

Friends, coworkers, book-club, sisters, a chosen-family table. Reserve seats together when you RSVP and we'll save the spots. Decide on a team name in the car on the way over.

Best for: groups already gathered

Come as a pair

Two seats are easy. We'll seat you at a table with other pairs and small groups — it's how most of our long-running teams started, somewhere in years two or three.

Best for: a friend & a friend

Come solo

Walk in alone, leave with a team. We pair solo guests at the door into balanced tables — new faces, mixed expertise, ready to play. It's our favorite way to grow the room.

Good questions

A few questions we get every year.

Do I need to be a women's history expert to come?

Not at all. The point of the night is that you'll learn names you didn't know — and so will the person next to you. Half of every team is usually playing on instinct. Curiosity wins more questions than expertise.

Can I come if I don't know anyone?

Yes — and please do. Tell us at check-in that you're flying solo and we'll seat you with other solo guests. Many of our returning teams met at the door in a previous year.

Is the night kid-friendly?

The room is adult-leaning — light cocktail-hour atmosphere, sharp questions, late-evening pace. Older teens who love trivia are welcome with a parent on the team. We don't recommend it for younger kids.

What kind of questions should I expect?

A mix — multiple choice, short answer, a few listening or visual questions, and the wild-card round. The hardest questions usually have a clue hidden in plain sight. The easiest questions are still about someone you'll want to look up later.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. 625 Monroe St NE is step-free at the main entrance, with accessible restrooms on the event floor. If you need anything specific to attend — seating, dietary, sensory — tell us when you RSVP and we'll plan for it.

What if I get there late?

Come anyway. We'll seat you between rounds and bring you a scorecard. You'll miss the first round's questions but you can still place. Doors stay open through the half-time stretch.

Are there prizes?

Yes — first place wins the traveling trophy and a round of drinks for the table. Best team name wins a smaller prize voted by the room. Every team gets a takeaway card with the night's answer key and a reading list.

Tickets are limited — we keep the room intimate on purpose. Reserve a full team, a pair, or a solo seat. We'll handle the rest.
